PriestLv. 2

Enchant Runestones

With this spell, a dwarven priest specially prepares a set of runestones to be used in divination

spells such as augury or divination. The priest takes a set of 6 to 20 stones and engraves special dwarven runes on each stone. The exact number of stones and specific runes inscribed vary with the religion or homeland of the priest. A bless spell is then cast upon the runestones, followed by the enchant runestones spell. The enchanted runestones improve the chance for an accurate divination for one week.

When a divination is attempted, the stones are tossed upon the ground and read as part of the divination process. The reading of the nine stones provides greater accuracy with divination spells. The exact gain in accuracy varies from spell to spell (but generally on the order of +10%).

The material component is the priest's holy symbol, which is touched to the nine stones.

Notes: Very rare dwarven spell. (Updated from Dragon Magazine.)
